Christian Worship

Sunday Services
The focal point of any congregation's life is the Sunday Worship. Here in Balerno, we believe this should remain the main gathering point of those questioning, seeking, discovering and celebrating the Christian faith.

Midweek Service
A short service on Wednesday lunchtimes, with an opportunity for personal prayer and reflection beforehand.

Praise & Prayer Group
Praise and Prayer Group meets on a Monday mornings at 10 o'clock in the vestry. The group enjoys singing and informal worship, along with the opportunity to pray for particular situations.

The Choir
The Choir regularly takes part in worship, and meets for practice on Thursdays at 7.30 pm in the Church Hall. New singers are always welcome!

Christian Education

Housegroups
A home-based discussion group to help Christians grow in their Christian faith.

Fig Tree Orchard
Fig Tree Orchard is a non-denominational programme of lectures and discussion in which the Gospel message is examined both in itself and in its resonance with the Church and the world.

Bible Study Group
The Bible Study Group meets to study and discuss aspects of the Bible in a friendly and informal atmosphere.

The Guild
The Guild is a movement within the Church which welcomes and encourages women to commit their lives to Jesus Christ and enables them to express their faith in worship, prayer and action.

Christian Fellowship

Social Events
The Fellowship Committee organises four or five different social events throughout the year for members of Balerno Parish Church and the community.

Balerno Monday Club
The Monday Club is a non-denominational club for the "over 55s", offering a full and varied programme of talks and outings for anyone looking to meet like-minded people.

Dinner Discussion Meetings
Balerno Parish Church's Dinner Discussion Meetings are a programme of informal dinners, organised by the Mission Committee, to broaden the discussion of the role of Christian morals and ethics in varied life, particularly in business, recreation and sport.

The Guild
The Guild is a movement within the Church which welcomes and encourages women to commit their lives to Jesus Christ and enables them to express their faith in worship, prayer and action.

The Guild Sewing Group
The Guild Sewing Group aims to raise money for Guild projects and other charities. They sew, knit, and do other craftwork, but also offer fellowship within the Group.

Coffee Shop
The Coffee Shop is open every Friday between 10 am and 12 noon in the Church Hall, giving you a chance to relax, chat and enjoy coffee and home baking in a friendly atmosphere.
