KIDS GO FREE

Fancy an afternoon of fun for all the family as well as the chance to pre-order your Christmas tree and turkey? Well, here’s a date and event that should be in everyone’s diary. This year's Balerno Parish Church Christmas Fair for Charity will be held on Saturday 24th November 1-3.30pm in the concourse of Balerno High School

Once again, a fun packed afternoon is guaranteed with a host of FREE entertainment including balloon shapes and stories with Clownbo, music and dance by local children and The Great Big Enormous Crocodile story telling with our local library. We also have our new games area, crafts, face painting and of course the man himself…. Santa Claus! You’ll find all the usual stalls including home baking, tea & coffee and much much more.

New to this year’s event is a very useful pre-ordering service to help adults have more of a hassle free Christmas. We all lack time so why not come down and pre order your Christmas tree and turkey and tick those two items off your to do list! Caring Christmas Trees with the Bethany Trust who aim to help the homeless in Edinburgh have a selection of sized trees freshly cut and ready for ordering and collection locally AND Scott of Juniper Green have the finest quality turkeys and other poultry, full of flavour and beautifully presented as well as all the trimmings to order. As well as this you can also bring your Christmas cards with you as the Scout Post will be there to accept and post. Even more reasons to come along.

The event is in aid of charity and last year four local charities benefited from the money raised which totaled over £1,300. We hope to beat this total this year to raise even more money for worthwhile causes including East of Scotland Deaf Children’s Society, Jamaica Education Support & Tear Fund.

It’s a great way to meet people, raise money for charity and certainly promises to be an event no one should miss out on no matter the age. Please come along and join in the fun.  Donations for stalls are once again welcome please contact Toll Mackie on 449 5583. Kids go free so remember to diary Saturday 24 November. Miss it and you’ll miss out!
