PRAYER MATTERS… JULY 2008

 

“All Scripture is given by God and is useful for teaching, for showing people what is wrong in their lives, for correcting

faults and for teaching how to live right.” – 2 Timothy 3:16.

 

1 -        Kirkhaven, Homelessness, Glasgow:  As we come before the King of kings and Lord of lords we pray we would glorify the Lord and exalt His name together… may we reflect the glory of the risen Lord…

 

2 -                “Teach us how short our lives really are so that we

    may be wise.” – Psalm 90:12.

 

3 -        ‘Remember all those working in the NHS who have come from overseas – especially from the developing world…’ – CARE.

 

4 -        “Remind the believers to yield to the authority of rulers and government leaders, to obey them, to be ready to do good…

 

5 -        “…to speak no evil about anyone, to live in peace and to be

gentle and polite to all people.” – Titus 3:1 and 2.

 

6 -        May God’s protection, energy and guidance bless Jared and his ministry – Jane Petty in DARFUR – Roy and Jane Dodman (UK).

            “You will be My witnesses… and in every part of the world.”

 

7 -        “Anyone who is having troubles should pray.” – James 5:13.

 

8 -        ‘Lord, sometimes we think You have given us an impossible task as disciples in an indifferent world.  But You have promised to be with us until the end of time, so, with You, the impossible becomes possible.’

 

9 -        Lord we remember those who misuse the internet to exploit people or abuse vulnerable individuals - may they be brought to justice… - CARE

10 -          “I am proud of the Good News, because it is the power

   God uses to save everyone who believes…” – Romans 1:16.

 

11 -      Threshold, Learning Disabilities, Edinburgh:  We praise and thank You Lord… help us to stand firm and to honour You at all times.

 

12 -      May God’s presence, peace and love surround Fraser Todd and Judy Shilling as they MARRY.  “Love is patient and kind.  Love is…”

 

13 -      The government in TURKMENISTAN controls the population, watching Christians… Pray they would overcome divisions and remain united as the body of Christ.OPEN DOORS“… be strong in the Lord…”

 

14 -         “Faith means being sure of the things we hope for and

            knowing that something is real even if we do not see it.”

 

15 -      ‘Lord, when we are impatient to see quick results, remind us that our job is to sow seeds.  Help us to trust that You will bring forth a harvest in due time.’ – MAF.  “… I know what I am planning for you…”

 

16 -      ‘Lord… please give us increasing passion and boldness to tell others about Your love and grace and lead us to people whose hearts are hungry for truth.  May our lives honour You as we learn to follow Christ.’

 

17 -      Principal Officer, Counselling:  Father, thank You for another day and we thank You for Your constant love, guidance and grace…

              ‘Thank You for waking me this morning - thank You for every sky of

blue - thank You for every new day dawning - God I’m thanking You.’

 

18 -        “I tell you the truth, anything you did for even the least

 of My people here, you also did for Me.” – Matthew 25:40.

Prayerfully remember people who are hungry, thirsty, oppressed and weary… also those who are ill, sad, lonely and struggling.   W.W.J.D? 

 

19 -      “In the same way, be strong in the grace of giving.”– 2C8:7b.

20 -      “God, examine me and know my heart; 

test me and know my nervous thoughts. 

See if there is any bad thing in me. 

Lead me on the road to everlasting life.”

                                      – Psalm 139:23-24.

 

21 -      Lord, in the busyness of life, teach us to stop, wait and learn from You, so that we will be able to walk in Your truth all the days of our life.

 

22 -      “You should not stay away from the church meetings as

       some are doing, but you should meet together and encourage each other.  Do this even more as you see the day coming.”

 

23 -      ‘Heavenly Father, we lift to You the 3,000 children who arrive in the UK every year… from Afghanistan, Somalia, Iran, Iraq and Eritrea… please give wisdom to those responsible for their welfare and future…’ - CARE

 

24 -      “…but I came to give life – life in all its fullness.” – Jn. 10:10.

Belmont Castle, Older People, Meigle:  Lord, we give thanks for the gift of life in all its fullness and for people who have enriched our lives…

 

25 -             “Do not be fooled:  you cannot cheat God.  People

                   harvest only what they plant.” – Galatians 6:7.

 

26 -        “Those who cry as they plant crops will sing at harvest

       time.  Those who cry as they carry out the seeds will return  

              singing and carrying bundles of grain.” – Psalm 126:5.

 

27 -      Praise God for His Word and answered prayers… giving Him the glory for His presence in Holy Spirit… and eternal thanks for Jesus Christ.

            “Your word is like a lamp for my feet… a light for my path.”

 

28 -              “The Lord… has told you what He wants from you: 

    to do what is right to other people, love being kind to

   others and live humbly, obeying your God.” –  Micah 6:8.

29 -      Chequers, Older People, Pitlochry: Thank You for the day so bright… for our rest at night… for families dear…thank You Lord for being near.

 

30 -         “You must not say evil things and you must not tell lies. 

                 Stop doing evil and do good.  Look for peace and

       work for it.” – Psalm 34:13 and 14.

 

31 -      ‘Thank You, Heavenly Father, that it doesn’t matter if we meet opposition, derision or indifference as long as You are with us.’ – MAF.
